Kim Kardashian West addresses husband Kanye West's mental health

She wrote on Instagram: "As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder.

"Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand."

He is a "brilliant but complicated person" whose "words sometimes do not align with his intentions", she said.

The rapper is one of America's biggest music stars, and is currently attempting to run for US president. But his first campaign rally and a number of recent Twitter messages have sparked confusion and concern.

Presidential hopeful Kanye West wants to run the White House like Wakanda

The rapper said he would model his White House operation on Wakanda, the fictional kingdom from Black Panther.

West told Forbes he is "extremely cautious" about a coronavirus vaccine.

He said: "They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can't cross the gates of Heaven."

In what the magazine described as "four rambling hours of interviews", West said he would decide in the next 30 days whether to definitely stand in November's presidential election.

Kanye West again says he will run for president

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," he tweeted. "I am running for president of the United States!"

His wife Kim Kardashian West and entrepreneur Elon Musk endorsed him.

But it's unclear whether West is really running.

Kanye West: 'I'm the greatest artist of all time'

He's previously called himself a "creative genius" and said his "music is perfect", not to mention his plans to run for President.

So his latest interview, with Beats 1 presenter Zane Lowe, was on-brand for the musician.

He not only touched on porn and religion, but also said: "I'm unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time."

"It's just not even a question anymore."

Kanye West designs anti-Democrat 'Blexit' merchandise

The movement, led by conservative commentator and social media star Candace Owens, launched at the weekend.

Owens said the rap star designed the logo - with human figures forming letters to spell the word Blexit - which appears on shirts and hats.

She said the pair's recent trip to Uganda "motivated Kanye and inspired what came to be the Blexit design".

West has supported Republican Donald Trump since his 2016 election, and recently visited the White House.

Kanye: 'Trump hat made me feel like Superman'

Wearing a Make America Great Again hat "made me feel like Superman", he said.

West had been invited to the White House for lunch to discuss prison reform and other issues.

At the end of the 10-minute monologue, during which Mr Trump nodded in approval, the president said: "That was quite something."

West replied: "It was from the soul. I just channelled it."

"I love this guy right here," West said, walking behind the desk to hug the seated president, who said: "That's really nice."

Kanye West resolves $10m Lloyd's of London lawsuit

The Saint Pablo Tour had 21 dates left in November 2016 when West pulled the remaining shows after falling ill.

Lloyd's alleged the musician had used marijuana and refused to pay out, citing a clause in the contract about alcohol and drug use.

West, 40, then sued the insurer, citing his treatment at a psychiatric centre.

A judge in California dismissed the case on Wednesday after being requested to do so by lawyers from both sides.

West's lawyer and Lloyd's both declined to comment, other than to say the matter had been resolved "amicably".
