Trukai Fun Run t-shirts to be auctioned

The 2019 Trukai Fun Run Auctions are happening on the 6th and 7th of March in Lae and Port Moresby respectively.

Rugby league great, Johnathan Thurston, will make special appearance at these two events alongside former Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys, Brent Tate.

The Lae auction is happening at the Lae International Hotel on the 6th of March. Tickets are selling for K650 a chair and K6,000 for a table of 10.

Post PNG sees importance of Trukai Fun Run

Chief Operations Officer of Post PNG, Ben Davis, said the Trukai Fun Run is a great way of giving back to the community and they are pleased to be a part of it.

Davis thanked the PNG Olympic Committee for providing the opportunity for the corporate sector to be part of Team PNG through the Fun Run, and presented a cheque for K16,000 for Fun Run T-shirts.

The shirts were bought during the Trukai Fun Run auctions in Port Moresby on March 8 this year. Post PNG bought 1,600 shirts to be the second highest bidder for Port Moresby.

K309, 000 for Team PNG

The first auction held in Lae on Wednesday evening sold 17,000 bringing in a K170, 000.

A further K5, 300 was raised from the sales of a signed SP Hunters jersey for K2, 800 and a signed North Queensland Cowboys jersey which went for K2, 500.

The items were purchased by Traisa and Territory Packing.

The top five bidders in Lae:

Traisa (K24, 000), Trukai Industries Ltd (K22, 000), Papindo, (K19, 000) Raumai 18 (K15, 000), Ramu Agri Industries Ltd bought (K14, 000).

Pom auction fetches K139, 000 for Team PNG

There was a small turnout, but President of the PNG Olympic Committee, Sir John Dawanincura said it was understandable with the current economic crisis plus with APEC preparations underway in the nation’s capital.

He was still appreciative to all the corporate bodies plus the government for their continued support to Team PNG’s endeavours.

13, 900 shirts were sold at the Royal Papua Yacht Club for 98 schools in and around Port Moresby.

Trukai fun run event launched

The Trukai Fun Run is set to go following the official launching of the event at the Royal Papua Yacht Club on Thursday by the PNG Olympic Committee with the support from Trukai Industries.

The annual fun run event is a PNGOC initiative and Trukai Industries has been the major sponsor since 2000, making this its 19th year of sponsorship.

President of PNGOC, Sir John Dawanicura, said they are looking forward to another successful year of fundraiser events to support Team PNG to represent the country in this year’s main gaming and sporting events abroad.

Trukai Fun Run all set for Sunday

President of the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee, Sir John Dawanincura praised Trukai Industries and other key corporate supporters of Team PNG in 2017 for making the event possible.

Sir John thanked Trukai Industries for sponsoring 100,000 shirts for the Fun Run this year and acknowledged the organizations who purchased shirts at the auctions in Lae and Port Moresby.

Trukai acknowledges organising partners

The 2017 Trukai Fun Run will take place on Sunday, June 11, in Port Moresby and other centres around the country.

“The Trukai Fun Run is the biggest sporting spectacle in the country with events running in towns and cities simultaneously. This is all possible thanks to our organising partners,” said Greg Worthington-Eyre.

“I sincerely thank the wonderful organisations that have taken on this responsibility in our participating centres in 2017.

“Without their help it would be an incredibly difficult, if not impossible, task to run an event of this size and scope.”

Cowboy’s Matt Scott to lead Trukai Fun Run

Currently sidelined with injury, Scott will add an extra sprinkle of stardust to an already impressive roster of sporting celebrities at the Trukai Fun Run.

Scott will lead as the 2017 Trukai Fun Run Ambassador on Sunday June 11 at the Sir John Guise Stadium.

He will be joined by another Cowboys favourite, retired Australian and Queensland centre/winger, Brent Tate.

The duo will also have alongside them SP Hunters players and Team PNG athletes.

Over K500,000 raised from Trukai auctions

The auction on Wednesday night at the Lae Royal Yacht Club saw 21,405 T-shirts sold, amounting to K214,050.

A further K3,500 was raised from the sale of a framed official North Queensland Cowboys NRL jersey.

The Port Moresby auction at the Royal Papua Yacht Club beat the one in Lae, raising K312,000 from the sale of 31,200 T-shirts at the Royal Papua Yacht Club last night.
